Private company with substantial agriculture holdings and equity interests in several Project Management, Engineering and Ag related business associated with creating infrastructure particularly that associated with Farming and agriculture.

Beeline Technologies Pty Ltd Oct 2003 to present

On behalf of the FAIF (Food & Agriculture Investment Fund) a consortia of Banking Investors including Rabo, ABN Amro and GE Capital Peter has assumed the role as Chief Executive Officer to oversee the Internationalisation and sale of the banks interests in Beeline both in Australia and the USA.

Swann Capital Pty Ltd June 2002 to present

Holding several equity interests in business with seven other partner shareholders including large Ag holdings in the Riverina, a 'Green' Energy fund, and many other Ag or Primary Industry related investments, several of which Peter sites on the board of.

Mitchell Group & Australian Water Engineering Pty Ltd
Barossa Infrastructure Limited 1999 to June 2002

As equity owner and Consultant to the Mitchell Group Peter successfully negotiated and directed the development and construction of a $30M privately owned water irrigation scheme for the wine growers of the Barossa Valley in South Australia. This commitment will be concluded in mid November 2002.

HEC Tasmania/Pinnacle VRB
King Island Tas Jan 2002 to Aug 2003

A small Power Station upgrade project involving the integration of Wind Generation and elimination of the demand for diesel by the use of the VRB technology to provide 'Green' power to King Island. This project involved negotiating the first Federal government AGO diesel rebate grant to fund the project.

Global Pacific Group Various Infrastructure Opportunities 1998 to 2001

Peter co-founded Global focusing on the development of opportunities in the Infrastructure sector. Over the years, Peter has become a renowned practitioner in the creation of privately funded Infrastructure in the Utilities, Power and Power Generation, Telecommunications, Transport and Construction Industries.

Enetech Pty Ltd (TXU) Managing Director 1997-1999

As a consultant to TXU Ltd, a US based utility company; Peter was responsible for the creation of Enetech Pty Ltd. During this time Peter was responsible for all operations, including a number of successful major projects including electrical infrastructure completion in the Mt Isa area for Century Zinc, Cannington and Ernest Henry Mines, the provision of privately owned Rowville Standby Transformer ($30M). Enetech's turnover during this period went from $25M to $125M per annum as Peter projected the company into a competitive market with great success enabling TXU to on-sell Enetech with a substantial return as well as outsourcing all ongoing maintenance work to a third party.

Melbourne City Link June 1995 - 1996

On behalf of the Build consortia oversaw the financial closure of the deal to build the Melbourne City Link Project on behalf of the Engineering and financing sponsors. This Infrastructure project, being one of the largest ever ($1.8B) Melbourne's private freeway network, linking Melbourne's eastern and western suburbs.

As project director for the Docklands Redevelopment tenders succeeded in developing a consortia who was short listed to tender 4 precincts with construction works totalling $850M. The consortia was successful in winning two precincts.

Leighton Group Contractors Pty Ltd
Director & General Manager, Northern Region Dec 1985 to June 1995

Oversaw the operations of Leighton in the North covering Queensland, Northern Territory & the Pacific. Leighton in the North being diverse general contracting business, (civil engineering, mining, building, property development and project management) with an annual turnover growing to $170 Million per annum.

Achievements:
  • The Leighton business for which Peter was responsible tripled in size and always remained profitable, consistently out-performing the regional competitors.
  • In 1994/95 the business recorded record profit and turnover.
  • From 1992 to 1995 Peter presided as the senior Leighton person responsible for the construction of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Queensland's largest single contract ever.
  • In 1987 Peter took the unprecedented step of shutting down the traditional tender building business, establishing a business development group to secure work by any means other than tender. This resulted in record work by 1990 in the process/building/commercial area and substantially contributed to the profit growth.
  • From 1986 to 1988 Peter was the Director responsible for the development and construction of the Brisbane Airport.
  • Peter was an innovator who successfully focused Leighton on many early private development and infrastructure projects, including Government works in Darwin, land and commercial opportunities in south-east Queensland and the Gold Coast.
  • Established a broad based general contracting and project management business with stable turnover and profit in all sectors.
  • Established strong reporting guidelines and procedures with clear focus toward profit.
  • Establishing innovative career guidance and development programs for his staff resulting today in 8 of his previous reports now CEO or MD in Australia's largest contracting and engineering business companies.
  • Leighton won 4 State and National safety awards for Projects completed in Queensland. Peter was an instrumental leader of Industry Committee's established to assist in the introduction of State and National Safety Legislation.
Manager Civil Engineering June 1980 to Dec 1985

Peter was initially hired to manage the Civil engineering operations in south-east Queensland and the mining operations in the Bowen Basin. The workload was gradually increased by adding, first work in Darwin and then Northern Queensland. This involved change management and the rationalization of several business units to eliminate loss and produce consistent profits from all business centres.

Responsibilities:
  • Planning, leading and organising of all civil engineering and mining works in the Northern Region.
  • Recruitment and development of staff, systems and quality standards.
  • Plant procurement and logistics management to a very diverse geographic region.
  • Tendering and procurement of all civil engineering work for which Peter remained responsible for through to ultimate completion.
Achievements:
  • Secured and completed the Brisbane (International) and Cairns Airports.
  • Developed the Commercial and technical skills to promote and secure the rights to the development and construction of several turnkey infrastructure and development projects. Notably amongst them, Channel Island Power station, Blair Athol Coal Mine and Raby Bay Development all projects innovative, large and requiring innovative thinking to procure and deliver.
  • Developed the systems and methods to successfully win and mine the pre-stripping of 30 million cubic metres of overburden for the Goonyella Mine in Central Queensland.
  • Restructured the Leighton Civil and Mining business establishing regional operations in South East Queensland, Darwin and Cairns North Queensland.

  • Project Manager responsible for Ginninderra Tunnel (ACT) and associated works as part of the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre.
  • Project Manager responsible for construction of the Ginninderra Freeway (ACT).
  • Project Engineer, to Project Manager Victoria Croydon City Council (Victoria) 1971 to 1973
  • Cadet Engineer (CRB now Vic Roads) to Engineer Grade 1 Country Roads Board (now Vic Roads) 1968 - 1971

Other Interests and Highlights:

  • A keen sportsman having played basketball, cricket and Australian Rules football at first grade level.
  • Owns and assists his wife to manage a large Beef and Grain farming business in the Riverina.
  • As a private investor sponsored and established ESI (Embryonic Stem Cell International Pte Ltd) a Singaporean based Biomedical Fund now with investment in excess of $25M.
  • Until recently a Director, Brisbane Lions Football Club from 1990 and was a member of a five man board responsible for the successful establishment of BFC in Brisbane at the 'Gabba' as a members-based club after years lacking in success under private ownership.
